Designed for secondary schools, this resource guide includes 12 slides and classroom tested lessons that address various themes in American history. Using art and artifacts as primary sources, the lessons promote skills in visual literacy, document analysis, and point-of-view writing. Inquiry-based activities will enrich students' understanding about art's role in American history and culture.
